Terms of Service

Welcome to PawAI. Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using our mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service") operated by CollinJB LLC ("we," "our," or "us").

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Service.

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the Service only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.

2. Important Disclaimer, Educational Use Only

PAWAI IS NOT A VETERINARIAN AND DOES NOT PROVIDE VETERINARY OR MEDICAL SERVICES.

The Service provides educational information about the safety of foods, treats, chews, and plants for dogs and cats. This information is for general educational purposes only and is not professional veterinary advice, diagnosis, or treatment. The Service does not replace professional veterinary care.

If you believe your pet has consumed something harmful, contact your veterinarian or an emergency pet poison hotline immediately. Do not rely solely on information from PawAI in an emergency.

3. Description of Service and How It Works

PawAI lets you photograph or search for an item and receive guidance about whether it is likely to be safe for your dog or cat.

The Service is powered by artificial intelligence. Results are generated by an AI model (currently Google Gemini) that identifies the item and reads or retrieves its ingredients. The Service is not a hand curated veterinary database and the results are not reviewed by a veterinarian before you see them.

Because the Service relies on artificial intelligence and on information printed on packaging or published by manufacturers, it can be wrong. It may misidentify an item, misread a label, retrieve an outdated ingredient list, or produce an incomplete or incorrect result. Ingredients and formulations also change without notice.

Quality scores. For commercial pet food, treats, and chews, the Service may display a quality score from 0 to 100. That score is calculated automatically from the ingredient information available to the Service. It is an informational comparison aid only. It is not a safety guarantee, not a nutritional endorsement, not a recommendation to feed or not feed any product, and not a statement about any manufacturer.

You are responsible for reading the actual product label and for any decision you make about what to give your pet.

4. Your Account

The Service does not require you to create a username or password. An account is created automatically on your device, and you may optionally link it using Sign in with Apple.

You are responsible for:

  • All activity that occurs through your device or linked account
  • Providing accurate information about your pet, since results depend on details such as species and weight
  • Notifying us of any unauthorized use

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access that violates these Terms.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations
  • Infringe on the rights of others
  • Transmit harmful code or malware
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service, including by automated scraping or by making excessive requests
  • Use the Service for any commercial purpose without our express consent
  • Represent output from the Service as veterinary advice, or resell or republish it as a safety certification

6. Subscriptions and Payments

Some features of the Service require a paid subscription (PawAI+).

  • Billing. Subscriptions are sold through Apple In-App Purchase and billed to your Apple ID. Payment is charged at confirmation of purchase.
  • Auto renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically unless auto renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
  • Free trials. If a free trial is offered, it converts to a paid subscription unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited if you purchase a subscription.
  • Cancellation. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
  • Refunds. Purchases are handled by Apple, and refunds are governed by Apple's policies. We generally cannot issue refunds directly. Requests should be made to Apple.
  • Usage limits. To keep the Service fast and reliable and to prevent abuse, scanning is subject to reasonable usage limits, which we may adjust.
  • Price changes. We may modify subscription prices with notice as required by Apple and applicable law.

7. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by CollinJB LLC and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Service without our prior written consent.

Product names, brands, and packaging shown in the Service belong to their respective owners. Their appearance does not imply any affiliation with or endorsement by them, or by us of them.

Content you submit. You keep ownership of the photos you submit. You grant us a limited license to process and store them in order to provide the Service to you, as described in our Privacy Policy.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CollinJB LLC AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

WITHOUT LIMITING THE FOREGOING, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES, ILLNESS, INJURY, VETERINARY COSTS, OR DEATH OF ANY ANIMAL, OR ANY HARM TO YOU OR ANY THIRD PARTY, ARISING FROM RELIANCE ON INFORMATION PROVIDED THROUGH THE SERVICE, INCLUDING ANY SAFETY VERDICT OR QUALITY SCORE. THE SERVICE PROVIDES AUTOMATED EDUCATIONAL INFORMATION ONLY AND IS NOT A SUBSTITUTE FOR PROFESSIONAL VETERINARY CARE.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of liability for certain damages, so some of the above may not apply to you.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR FREE, OR COMPLETELY SECURE, OR THAT ANY IDENTIFICATION, INGREDIENT LIST, SAFETY VERDICT, OR QUALITY SCORE WILL BE ACCURATE, CURRENT, OR COMPLETE.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless CollinJB LLC and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

11. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation if you breach these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. Sections 2, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 12 survive termination.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Ohio, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Ohio, and you consent to their jurisdiction.

13. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Terms on this page and updating the Effective Date. Your continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.

14. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms shall otherwise remain in full force and effect.

15. Apple

You acknowledge that these Terms are between you and us, not Apple, and that Apple is not responsible for the Service or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the Service. Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims relating to the Service. Apple and its subsidiaries are third party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
